WHAT IT TAKES TO 'UP' YOUR GAME

"Every next level of life will demand a different you.” — Leonardo DiCaprio

It isn’t just about confidence.

Once you successfully complete one goal, the next question becomes: Are you ready for the next level? Do you want more?

For some, we’re fine staying in our comfort zone. Reaching that first goal was enough. But for others… we seek more, need to achieve more, yet are caught in the mental tug-of-war between facing a new challenge and the safety of where we are.

When you decide to move up a level, like achieving a weight loss goal, upping your workout game, or being more consistent with nutrition rituals, there is a period of unfamiliarity where your confidence goes down. It kind of feels like learning your multiplication tables in school then learning all about exponents.

As the level of difficulty goes up, your resistance level goes up. You want to fight it. You remember that, right?

You start to doubt you can go up a level and do what needs to be done. You create road blocks and excuses to prove to yourself that it is hard and maybe not worth it.

Doubt becomes fear. You’re not sure if you can keep striving towards the next level. You keep playing the tug-of-war game between fear and determination to reach a new goal.

It is at this point that you are faced with a very important decision: Will you connect deeper with your why? What really drives you to the next level? What is stopping you?

But, really, isn’t it all familiar? To get to level 1, didn’t you have to fight uncomfortable feelings and doubt? Yet in hindsight, you made it through. So here you are at level 2.

You’ve been here before. You know this feeling. This is the opportunity that your momentum can be multiplied and compounded. This is the point where you can take everything you’ve learned in level 1 and go bigger than ever.

It isn’t as unfamiliar or scary as you think.

You are ready for the next level.
